YEAH BUT … As of these writings, so far, I am about a year out from being Born Again. I do not have all the answers and never will. But here I will take a stab at answering some often-asked questions; concerns that some might have which hold them back from asking Jesus for help, guidance, wisdom, healing, direction, for what is best in the long run–questions I have asked at one time or other in my life. At times, we may have reasons/excuses for not connecting with Jesus. Here are some common ones: “Yeah, but what’s in it for me? What if I put in all the effort and time to try to reach Him and He never listens to me or ever gets back to me? Praying to Jesus is never a waste of our time. It not only helps us get the answers we so strongly want it also helps us become closer to Him, in a personal relationship with Him. Even if it is not on our time or our idea of the “right” answer, He always answers our prayers. Even when we rather arrogantly tell Him what to do, He listens patiently, waiting for our rant to reach its end. “Yeah, but what I need or want is not important enough for me to ask Him about.” Nothing is of too little importance to Jesus. He wants us to come to Him with everything that is on our hearts. “Yeah, but I would feel embarrassed to talk to God. None of my friends do, and Iwouldn’t want them to find out.” If we feel uncomfortable communicating with Him in front of others, we can always pray when we’re alone. We can also pray in our mind, so that only we and Him know, as we can also listen for His response without others being aware of it. There is no such thing as a stupid question in His mind, that I know of, so it is okay for us to ask whatever we want, without worrying about what others will think. The opinions of others are not nearly as important as whatever is on our minds and Jesus is not opinionated. Another point to consider is that allowing others to know about our special relationship to Jesus can be the beginning to our helping them come to Him. When our prayers have been answered, and He has fulfilled our needs or wants, it can be good to share our testimony with others. To do this would be pleasing to God.
